Luke Skywalker and Dorothy are two different types of people and Hero's .Their journeys have two different types of settings and period time. Point is they both have different journey task to fulfill. Dorothy is trying to get back home and Luke wants to get rid of dark Vader. They're both great hero's, but if you had to choose a best role model who would it be? And why? My choice is hard to make because there both such great hero's, but I think I'll choose Luke Skywalker because he seems like he would be a better Hero Character trait.
In Luke's Skywalkers journey it wasn't easy it was really difficult he had to find things and learn things in order to know what's going on. He had to space travel which was his first time doing it and also learn new things he never knew. Luke is a monomyth hero because on his journey he had to fulfill it himself he was really determined to complete his journey. Through Luke's Journey he did have some friends who tagged along and traveled with him. They really didn't help him much he literally did half the things himself. That's the thing Luke really didn't need anyone's help he could do it himself he just needed motivation to do and complete the journey.
Throughout his journey he had to overcome a lot of task like “Trials and Approach” which were very difficult because he had to do it all alone “Ben” helped him try to overcome Vader but at the end Luke was the one fighting him until no mercy. Luke Skywalker in my opinion did an amazing job trying to complete his journey.
Then theirs Dorothy, who wasn't a monomyth hero, because she didn't complete the journey herself nor alone. Because throughout Dorothy journey she meets new friends and they get off with a good vibe. While Dorothy walks through the yellow brick road she runs into some new friends the scarrow Lion, and can man they all help her complete her journey and they take her to the great and powerful Oz. Dorothy had to also face many challenges she had to face her biggest enemy of them all which was the wicked witch and that's the approach step. See Dorothy is trying to get home, but somehow the good witch put her some magical red slippers and they won't come off. The witch is after Dorothy for those magical slippers and Dorothy is just trying to get home, but with the wicked witch in the way she can't complete her journey to get back home. But with the help of Dorothy friends throughout the journey Dorothy was able to defeat the wicked witch and got to go back home where she belongs.
We just read some parts of Luke and Dorothy parts of their journey and what they did and what they had to overcome. Honestly I think the best role model would be Luke because he seems like he can be very independent by himself without anyone's help. Luke has more advantages then Dorothy because first thing is first he is a guy and guys are much stronger than girls no matter what. Dorothy wouldn't figure anything out if it wasn't for her friends who brought her to the Wizard of Oz. Luke just seems like he can be a better role model than Dorothy can honestly, obviously girls would look up to Dorothy more because she's a girl and her journey seems more fun than Luke's journey. We all know that Luke would be better though because he seems like he can handle himself alone and he is really smart , independent and clever he'll do just fine alone Luke would be a perfect role model.
Dorothy is a great Hero also because she saved Emerald City from the wicked witch and Luke saved the vortex and space from Dark Vader. We all have to agree there both great hero's because Dorothy's journey was fun and exciting then Luke's journey was mysterious and interesting which made both journeys awesome. At the end of both their journey everyone is happy and they go back to their regular life just how the story started. They both go back home and telling everybody what happened, no one believed Dorothy they thought she was crazy. But Luke everyone knew all about this space travel they just didn't know Luke would actually do it. Both these Hero's went on an ordinary journey that no one could ever go on and they did what they were so supposed to do which was complete and fulfill the journey.
