Luke Skywalker fulfills the Epic Hero Monomyth. A monomyth is a pattern that every hero follows in the story. This monomyth is also a hero with a thousand faces. Luke Skywalker started off as a young teenager living a normal life on the farm. But he always complained every time he was given a task. But when his departure began he had doubts on his adventure. But he likes action in his life. He faces a huge crisis having his master k**ed right in front of his eyes. This not only k**ed him but it helped him get through many things like developing more confidence in himself. At the end you see dramatic differences. He then got more mature & he learned responsibility was not a bad thing after all.
I like my character, mister from the start. Mister was about twelve but went through many difficult things in his short period of time. He started off having the worst attitude taking back everyone. He lived in a house with his mother that was a drug dealer even before he was born. There were even days where that he went without eating, but that was a normal thing to him. One afternoon when he came from school he found one of his mother's drug dealer friends in his room, Pete. He was extremely upset. That's when his adventure started but he didn't know yet. Mister was older than Pete, but not one of them knew that they would only have each other to count on after mister's mom, the only adult but she then went to prison.
Soon they ran out of food & electricity. They went from having help from an old friend to robbing a convenient store. Mister had many fears. Mister went out one afternoon & Pete stayed home sick in the small apartment. While he walked out soon enough he saw that Pete was being chased by police. Mister had the chance to escape but he knew that if Pete got caught they would send him to another home for homeless kids. He dreaded that place even though he had never been there before. Mister then felt defeated & forever alone.
After a few days later Mister had been hit with a bigger crisis, when he got caught. They send him to the same shelter Pete was in. When Mister saw Pete he saw he was doing much better than when he was found. Mister made sure nobody bothered Pete, he always protected him. Then he realized the shelter wasn't as bad as he thought. One evening, his mom showed up at the shelter asking them to forgive her & go back with her. About a month had past & Mister returned to school. He wasn't that disrespectful, bad boy anymore, because now he had changed & he was the exact opposite.
In my opinion I feel as if Pete was a better hero than Luke. Luke didn't go through many difficult things like Pete did. Even though Pete had a lot of fear he still went through many hard things. Also Pete never lived a normal life, he was always sent on difficult tasks. Pete shows that even through hard times you can still get through the most difficult times of your life.
