This year Mr. varnell showed us two creation stories , the greek creation myth , and the genesis creation story, there are very similar to one another. they both have a villian , a hero, and man vs man. For example , In genesis there was adam and eve who later rurned into villians because of there negative choices, while cronus made a negative choice by eating his kids from jelousy. There is also a hero in Each of these creation stories in Genesis the hero is GOD because he has posative intentions which is a characteristic trait of a hero. In the Greek creation myth zeus and rhea were heroes because they brought their Brothers and sisters back to life , but also portrayed as villians for their malicious action of poisioning their father. there are A lot of different types of archetypes. A archetype is a philosophical idea that refers to forms that embody different types of characteristics , or a thing. Orgins of archetypes go far back. As far back as the seventh century,Achetypes can be known as dreams of mythoglogy, primordial images, and prototypes for ideas. I read online that an archetype is also a character, situation, or action that appears to be universal forms of human nature. Archetypes come in themes , settings and symbols. Archetypes can come in forms of representations of human race such as love, religion, d**h, birth, life, struggle, survival and other forms. Theres plenty of Archetypes and I will explain a few of them for you
The hero archetype: is one who who has goodness struggles against evil in order to restore harmony and justice to the society for example : three musketeers , shrek, Hercules , beuwolf. Hero achetypes share several characteristics and are put in certain circumstances. Sometimes they go on a great journey where they prove what they are made of. Hero archetypes are like protsginists in whatever story or movie they are in.Some of their characteristics are : courage ,moral correctness.and preservance they don't need all these characteristics but most of them have these characteristics. "Where there's a will, there's a way" is a motto hero archetypes represent Then theres the villain archetype :Also known as the antagonist or bad guy, The villain archetype tends to have a negative effect on all the other characters and can be described as ; malicious , wicked , or cruel. A conflict between a villain and a hero can be identified as MAN VS MAN which is also a another achetype. a example of a villain archetype can be : LONG JOHN SILVER : from treasure island ( a book ) he one leg, but he is still a bit trill , and k**s one after he refuses to join His mutiny. even though long john appeared to be easy to get along with, he really didn't like when others disobeyed him and that why he is a villain because he has unfair and rude intentions
