With diminutive leaves unchanging
And green, the colors not ranging,
A desert tree the branches cascade,
And covers the ground with shade.
I have thought of you between the roots
Lay beside your shirt, your boots
And let me cover you with love
While the desert tree stands above.
Silence, while the wind is talking
And when the sun is walking
Across the barren desert sky
Beneath this tree, we will lie.
Smile while your face is turning
And while the leaves are burning
And when our hearts melt we will love.
