On the far end
of the third floor
down the soft pink
corridor
under low-watt bulbs
through alarmed double doors
I woke up
in Maternity Ward
not that I
wasn't working
truth is I
worked all morning
but didn't see
a single sunbeam
'til I hit 3 West and
there
reaching out
to touch my nose
and make me sneeze
the Lord gave his sun to me
I restocked the gloves
in every size
I picked up the crates
and opened my eyes
to praise Him
