Life has been fascinating so far.
Dreams have been fulfilled
Or half finished
Or become memories.
Friendships have come and gone
Some lasting till now
Others discarded
Victims of time and space.
Love has touched from time to time
At times deeply and enduringly
Sometimes in such a fleeting manner
That only disjointed dreams remember.
I've watched my parents
Grow old with grace and wisdom
Hoping that somehow their example
Will pa** through me to another generation.
Our children have grown beautiful.
Each somehow an extension
Of values I hold as true.
I've seen my children's children.
Walking in the rain,
Listening to drops splashing on stones
And smelling fertile earth aromas, continues to
Excite my soul and soothe my mind.
I am sustained by the thought
That somewhere deep within me
There is a glimmer of grace
That will bring me rest
When my eyes will no longer
See the trees showing darkly
At the edge of earth to air
As stars make their way to dawn.
But until then I will sing of the beauty
Of nature, of life, of the wonderment
All my senses experience
And love.
