have you ever heard

he says that a bird who
has learned the good word
is worth two in hand
and the brighter the better
for to speak the gospel plan
tropical birds
because there's no foreign land
that's as exotic as our home
in heaven, where the palms
are greener than we'd even
understand and the beaches sparkle
with the purest of white sand.
there's no sight as splendid
nor a splendor that's as grand
as when in robes of
color we congregate to shake
the hand of Jesus
