Standing removed from earth and seasons
filling our mouths with food that confuses
privilege decrees obesity
standing displaced from land and tradition
foreign aid comes with condition
poverty decrees hunger and trademarked seeds
land stolen and enclosed over centuries
a basic sk** is soon forgot
the rural dispossessed move to cities
now ready for work in the factory
the worm turns in the damp earth
a seed in your mind and then in the ground
i seek self reliance from the system
hope and food spring from the earth
