admire
(written for a friend at a stop light)
To you I see sweet eclair
My love quaffs in summers air
For I now know my truth of this desire
And wane in the night of you, I admire
Finding my light in this dark night
Petals of smell and shine so bright
My desire quells and spells I fight
To admire your charm, I delight
So quick to shine and light my way
Far from you I will not stray
With this course I find my remorse
None to acquire, friendship I admire
Early morning sets my gaze
Laying here buildings all razed
Seeing the devilish grin I scold
Knowing with you I could still grow old.
Trouble was coming into my life
But your star of love forgave this strife
My friend, my brother, emerge from dark
Sing with me, gleefully as a feather of lark
