My dads mom and dad
Came over on a boat
Expecting freedom and
Lanes paved in gold
But what they didn't know
Is what they were told
Were lies and folklore
They died fore i was born x2
They were not the only ones
Many more on them boats
Some didn't make over
And died on the water
Many weeks at sea
They reached nyc
Instead of golden streets
They seen a women that was green
No house or a job
Just a dream and each other
Packed up all their belongings
And hopped on the bus
After a month in new york
They traveled up
Stayed in new zealand
And arrived in clevlenad
It wasn't what they thought
But don't get me wrong
They had some good times
But i doubt it was what they want
But back in their time
Things were a lot better
Home of the free
Was something that mattered
Many wars pa**ed
The years go fast
When u caught up in the cycle
The country broadcast
My grandpa died young
I'm stuck with this thought
I hope he went home
Least one more time
My dads mom and dad
Came over on a boat
Expecting freedom and
Lanes paved in gold
But what they didn't know
Is what they were told
Were lies and folklore
They died fore i was born x2
Its crazy if they stayed
I would be here
Cuz my parents wouldn't have
And i wouldn't have your ear
bu*terfly effect
The world coulda ended
2 boat tickets
Controlled what happens
Its crazy to think
That most my blood overseas
And I'm the second generation
That was born of here
I'm proud to a point
But it doesn't feel right
My brain doesn't belong
This isn't my way of life
Im goin to move away
Just don't know where
Back to ireland
Or a whole new land
A placem thats free
With no steep taxes
That bury u in a hole
And tease u with the ladder
A plain and simple place
That takes u as u mare
Not judging rumors
Or j**els and your car
The full circle funny
Its all part the cycle
They came for opportunity
Now I'm following behind them
