[Hook: Bekah]
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
[Verse 1: Cee]
At the crack of the down, the alarm breaks the silence of the morning
He awakens to another laborious day of boredom
The monotony of everyday life k**ed his dreams off
The last trace of his ambition, it seems gone
Now emotions run raw, always seesaw
It's like he's living hypothetically, by default
Just the threat of being broke keeps him motivated
But his broken soul is slowly fading and he f**in' hate it
He wanna quit but the mortgage and bills call
Plus the boss insisting on daily busting his steel balls
(Yes sir) And he says it with a smile
And every time that he try, he dies a little bit inside
And it seems so hopeless, he'll never get in front of
Having too much month left at the end of the money
And then his girl has enough of him, she falling out of love again
Thinking of maybe dumping him, she sick of all the struggling
But all he needed was to wake up man
The day his missus nearly left him was a kick up the a**
And looking back, a decade he wasted, old path, he changed it
New man that he created became him
And so, his dreams moved from dormant to more important
And now he's looking forward to waking up in the morning
As he types his resignation, he's buzzin', 'f** y'all!'
New plans so the man that he wasn't would come forward and um
[Hook: Bekah]
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
[Verse 2: Bekah]
Life can get a little tough sometimes
And it's those special ones that push you through
You always say not to thank you
But I gotta let you know I'm so grateful
I don't know what it is (I don't know what it is)
I know I can make it (yes I can)
May not be on my own (own)
A nudge from you, it's game on (on, it's game on)
Life's a pleasure with people like you (people like you)
You cry and laugh, but you get through (get through)
Everybody needs that somebody (ay)
People like you
[Hook: Bekah]
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
[Verse 3: Hugo1]
Round 1, the bell tolls for the formerly proud son
Eternally searching for the first door to pound on
A prodigal in a corridor, a recurring dream with a groundhog
And an agent saying 'What good's a phone call with your mouth gone?'
The sound's on but the tape's melting, record skipping
Can't tell if it's the next one or the same day just ending
Feeling demented, germinating the seeds of an evil tendency
A weakened predator on the receiving end of a feeding frenzy
Hyenas they came pretending, invisible waves ascending
Attempting to make him cave in to elevated tension
Left him in the paternal hands that bruised him
Cigarettes from figureheads pushed the cancer through him
A phantom grew in him, a panther chewin' him
Catholicism just offered him optimism and a false sense of absolution
Absolutely abject, sins so sinister revolving
Around his future coffin so no minister could ever absolve him
And too often new taunts bringing through thoughts grew some new monsters
Too lost in gruesome shots locked into nuance of what his crew wants
And who wants to live in a shoebox with two locks
Serving a few twats, drinking soupcons and soup with croutons
He lose the plot, the monster grows his actions
We need someone, he met his on the road to Damascus
To know his moments of lapses, and help his fortune flip
He chose a better course in this, a metamorphosis
[Hook: Bekah]
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
Everybody needs that somebody to help you through
Everybody needs that somebody, someone like you
