12/9/13: Trailer 7
12/10/13: Today, I started a new book called Divergent. The main character's name is Beatrice Prior. What I read so far was basically telling the reader that she lives in a society where there is 5 areas called factions. There's Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Candor, and Amity. There is also a sixth one called divergent, where you really don't have a specific faction you belong in. But no rarely ever has that, because it's supposed to be dangerous and they eliminate you if you do have it. To find out what faction you're in you have to take the aptitude test. When Beatrice took the test she found out she was divergent.
12/11/13: Today, in Divergent, I read the part where Beatrice just found out she was divergent. The testing lady told her that she couldn't tell anyone. When she went back home she found her brother, Caleb, and asked him how his test went. He looked a bit shaken up, and didn't answer her. Her whole family is in abnegation and on the ceremony day you have to choose if you want to leave your family or not. Because she was divergent, she really only had the choices of Erudite, abnegation and dauntless. She just couldn't decide which one yet.
12/12/13: Today, in Divergent, I read the part where Beatrice and her family go to the ceremony to pick what faction she belongs in. When someone's name is called they have to go up to the center of a circle with 5 podiums around the outside of the circle. The podiums have a bowl filled with something. Gray stones for abnegation, Water for erudite, Earth for amity, lit coals for dauntless, and gla** for candor. The testing guy gives the persona knife, they make a small cut in their hand and hold the blood over the bowl for their chosen faction. When her brothers name is called, he chooses Erudite. She is actually really surprised because he had all of the perfect attributes for an abnegation. When she is called up she chooses dauntless. When her name is called, she chooses dauntless.
