Those times were crucial, moldin' my character
Every time they hated on me, I just I through up a barrier
Except for this one day, when my father sat me down
He said to stop rappin' if I wanna make this family proud
Man that was hard to shake, like a shot to the face
But now when I get up on stage, I can see him standing in the crowd
The lesson learned, is I just need to be me
Aimin' to be excellent even when life ain't easy
