Loose Talk
By Pat Nason (c) 2009
Verse One
There's a lot of loose talk in this town
Everybody you see, they're talking 'bout me
And the story that's going around
They say I'm crazy for you
And they swear that it's true
And if you promise you won't breathe a word
I'll let you in on everything that I've heard
Just remember I'm telling you confidentially
And if anyone should ask you
You didn't hear it from me
Verse Two
Just today about quarter-to-two
I was out for a walk when I heard this guy talking
And he said I'd been crying over you
He said you left me brokenhearted
How does this kind of stuff get started
Well, let's see if I can set the record straight
But you know, sometimes the truth can get very complicated
And just remember I'm telling you confidentially
And if anyone should ask you
You didn't hear it from me
Bridge
Now here's the news and it's the latest
They say I think that you're the greatest
And I'm trying to get next to you
But that's as much as I have learned
And the story's unconfirmed
But wouldn't that be wold if it turned out to be true?
Verse Three
Now I've told you what little I know
You'd have to take it from there, after all that's only fair
Just whatever you do take it slow
Don't go jumping to conclusions
Keep a lookout for illusions
You can hear a lot of stories in the street
But you must be very careful with the ones that you repeat
And just remember I'm telling you confidentially
And if anyone should ask you
You didn't hear it from me
