[Intro]
Yea...yea
{Exhale}
[Verse 1]
I dedicate the verse to Mike Brown
And everyone who died in your's and my town
Tears filled to the sky, I swear we gon' drown
So before the light comes I pray we go crown
Kings, queens, princesses, princes
They stole our allure, now you can't tell the difference
But I can ensure we'll be back with a vengeance
As soon as these periods finish yo' sentence
No question marks, you know the facts
Want us behind bars, spittin' bars, and in the trap
On a conquest with the prison-military complex
Not complex, go to war or be a convict
Not conscious, jUst real spittin' honest
sh**, we could run congress from the projects
Who tryina' run congress from the projects?
We finna' run congress from the projects!
[Hook]
Hell naw they won't tear us down, hell naw you won't stop we
Hell naw you can't shoot me down, yo' bullets can't stop me
Hell naw you can't tear us down, hell naw you won't stop we
This black skin is bullet proof so your guns can't stop me uh
[Bridge]
That's a black girl
Naw that's a queen
That's a n***a boy
Nah that's a king
That's just a black girl
Nah that' a queen
Aye you that n***a boy
Naw I'm that king
[Hook]
Hell naw you won't break me down, hell naw you can't stop me
Hell naw you can't shoot me down, yo' bullets can't stop me
Say hell naw you won't break me down, hell naw you won't stop me
This black skin is bullet proof so yo' guns can't stop me uh!
[Outro: Steve Harvey and Lesley McSpadden (Mother of Michael Brown]
Harvey: Lesley welcome. Take me back to the day, um
When you got the news about your son
McSpadden: Ok. I was at work and I got a phone call
That someone had been shot by my mother's house
I instantly just felt a deepening in my chest
And um, my line clicked, and it was my sister's number
And um, I clicked over, and before she could say anything she was crying
And um, she said "They shot Mike-Mike" And I didn't ask any questions
Cause I just wanted to...not even think that he was dead...at all
And when she said it I just start running, my first instinct was to run
Like I just wanted to run to him, but I ran back in my job
And I just told them to get me there, "Please get me to my son"
And the first thing I saw that let me know...
[Crying]
...was the yellow tape
And I asked him "Can I look and see is that my son?"
He told me "No"
And I repeatedly asked that for that four and a half hours we was out there
And they wouldn't
I wanted to see for myself
He was my first....my first born, he was the leader of the pack
For my two daughters and my other son
He was meek, he was humble, he was tall, he was mine
He loved dogs, he loved people, he loved anything that had life in it
Anything!...a plant
And that's why I just can't understand...why that happened to my child...
