Would that I were a Poet
Words tripping from my tongue
As j**els of silver and gold
Entrancing all who hear them
Like all the Masters of old
Words so eloquent
They ignite a pa**ion
In the hearts of all who hear
Bringing them ever closer
To those they hold so dear
Words to sooth the heartbreak
Of a grieving widow
At the grave
Or a mother who has lost a child
That medical science couldn't save
Sweet words of love
Of young lovers newly found
Rea**uring words of comfort
To a cherished spouse
That's Heaven bound
Oh Lord, the ultimate Poet
From which this talent stems
I humbly ask your indulgence
And give me the gift
Of these precious gems
