Never thought of thanking the land where I grew
Never really thought it through, thank you
But I also did what I had to do, tried and true
Don't take it as a diss, if you ain't the one I turn to
It'd be remiss of me, to leave thee in misery
But I chose my way, my world view, freely
Can't judge a man if you ain't walk in his shoes
But if you force me to choose, I'll choose
And don't expect me to come back and excuse
Refuse, to deal with people who falsely accuse
Others, brothers murdering brothers, brutal Brutus
Grieving mothers, bullets don't care about colors
Deceiving scholars proudly sell their soul for dollars
I am so thankful for every chance and opportunity
No doubt I love my country, celebrating silver jubilee
And I know, trust me, because I have seen true misery
Truth is, I can never repay you for what you did for me
In the booth, thankful, from the heart I spit my eulogy
Wolves will smell ambiguity, and start to question me
Met with scrutiny, as an enemy, cuz I don't ride with the trinity
You are right, yet I prudently fight, for peace, tolerance and unity
In my local community, believe in mutual respect, inexcusably
Presumably, haters will hate and criticize, until their demise
Success befalls him who tries, don't tell me you came to civilize
Spread false rumors and lies, an entire population you victimize
What's wrong with you, invent problems to debate and politicize
The media wanna hypnotize, evil words they purposefully publicize
Don't really care, as long as I am just and fair, I won't apologize
You can hate or sympathize, but I see through your disguise
And even though we are currently weak, we will rise
Somewhere someone decided that we ought to be divided
What to do, these people ain't evil, but simply misguided
Can't hide it, like a fiend, I chose my deen, the color green
Did it back when I was a teen, a human being, not a machine
Opponents steadily try to demean, can't grasp the unseen
