performed by Lucas Stanton in the character of The Unknown Soldier
Uh, hey, hello
Testing, um
I'm the uh, Unknown Soldier
Yeah
and um, I'm grateful for everything.
Did you know that I'm a gronk
and that life is not so wrong?
And did you know that I'm comfortable
in the system I belong?
And did you know I have a place
And for that I should be proud?
And did you know that things work out
if you just know how
Corporations provide convenience I live in
and I couldn't live without
I whinge and rant and rave
But now I don't know what about
Did you know that the taxes we pay come back to us through a reliable system that looks after our basic primal needs, like medicine and food and getting around and all that?
Did you know that like, my taxes, y'know, if it wasn't for them, my jaw, y'know, would still be f**ed?
Y'know?
And, and, did you know, that our government actually wants to help us in it's best way it can, and all we can do is whinge and complain about it?
Y'know?
Did you know you couldn't do it better?
And did you know, neither could you?
And did you know that the dole is a perfectly reliable system that sorts out people with low motivations so they don't go insane and k** everyone in the neighbourhood?
Yeah, did you know that people care?
Did you know you're self-aware?
You create the world you live in
And you create your own despair
Did you know that what you want
will never be enough?
