It started way back in elementary school
I started tryin to be smart steada tryin to be cool
got a 286 with 8 megs of ram
stayed inside, never got a tan
runnin QBasic got me coding games
I made a couple that were good, but mostly they were lame
got a 486 runnin wolf 3d
and duke nukem, too, baby, hail to the chief
I grew up on hits like SMB3
I would play it all night; it meant the world to me
and when I hit my teen years, it was like a girl to me
it was all I needed to set me free
a video game junkie I would tend to go drastic
spent all my money on circuts and plastic
playing those games till the break of dawn
much to the dismay of my dear old mom
All those moments I got to play
on my nintendo every day
I wish I could go back
to those times - they were so easy
I wish I could be playing my super NES
playing ninja turtles with my friends
those times they were the best
Now ten years later, I'm the the same boat
near the same castle, in the same moat
I have dual widescreens to my name
and a good video card to run my games
I'm reasonably certain the times have changed
but you wouldn't know if from my games
technically my games have changed, it's true
playin doom 3 instead of doom 2
I've practically mastered Mario 3
on the gameboy, emulator, and my TV
Mario Adventure is the game I roll
on the gameboy advance, when I'm on the go
I'm always down for some Halo on the XBox
I'm a little out of practice, so I don't trash talk
It's great multiplayer, but it's not the same
as the great story line of the single player game
All those moments I got to play
on my nintendo every day
I wish I could go back
to those times - they were so easy
I wish I could be playing my super NES
playing ninja turtles with my friends
those times they were the best
All those moments I got to play
on my nintendo every day
I wish I could go back
to those times - they were so easy
I wish I could be playing my super NES
playing ninja turtles with my friends
those times they were the best
