HE'S NOT HERE

We'll save your old place and we'll leave the lights on in our eyes
We'll remember your face as we've seen it beneath the blue skies
And whenever we speak of your name
The man who loved all of the game
We'll soon enough join you in laughter so everyone cries
Through the third half, the fourth best of three
The fifth quarter, it's time to go home
For the sixth man needs his seventh-inning stretch
So many good people have never been here
The sign on the wall says it all and you're all very dear
But if someone were with us today
I think he might lean back and say,
“Oh, you're breakin' my heart, let's not start, let's just have some more beer!”
Through the third half, the fourth best of three
The fifth quarter, it's time to go home
For the sixth man needs his seventh-inning stretch
But we'll save your old place and we'll leave the lights on in our eyes
We'll picutre your face as we've seen it beneath the blue skies
And whenever we speak of your name
The man who loved all of the game
We'll soon enough join you in laughter so everyone cries
