They met by chance
At the kings royal ball
They fell in love
Like leaves in the fall
They went to dance
And never let go
With eyes likey gems
That began to glow
And he said:
I'll be your dashing knight
You'll be my princess, fair lady
We'll ride into the night
You are like sunlight fair lady
Born the daughter of noble birthright
She's wrapped in pearls and dressed in white
Seventeen, soon to be married to her knight
Whose wrapped in armour and dressed to fight
And he said:
I'll be your dashing knight
You'll be my princess, fair lady
We'll ride into the night
You are like sunlight fair lady
Then days came when unrest filled this land
The king called for every able bodied man
But over time their love had grown more and more
When the knight was to go off to war
And He said:
I will be back
And she said:
Oh knight you must promise me that
It feels like we've just begun
There is so much left undone
And she cried out "you mustn't leave me"
He said "I will always love thee"
I'll be back, I will be back
I can promise you can count on that
But the knight is wounded form the battle raging all around him
And he lapses in and out of consienceness as they surround him
And with his last breath he cries out
And she awakens in the night, remember me, remember always
I'll be your dashing knight
You'll be my princess, fair lady
We'll ride into the night
You are like sunlight fair lady
I'll be your dashing knight
You'll be my princess, fair lady
We'll ride into the night
You are like sunlight fair lady
