[Verse]
Women
Our mothers our sisters
Our daughters our aunts our
Grandmothers our cousins
Our girlfriends our fiancées
Our wives
Our neighbours our bosses
Our nurses our doctors
But most importantly
Our friends
Our family
So guys, why
Do we slander them and
Use and abuse them when
They're the sole reason we're alive
In the first place
Life may be the greatest gift
We've ever received
But our mothers gave that
To us
They carry us for 9 months
Imagine walking around
With another human being inside you
For that long you have to
Give them everything
Your breath your food your energy
Your body your soul
You need to dedicate those
270 days to being the greatest
Human being you can be
Just so your child can enter the world safely
And even then
You have to push
And push and push and push or
Have somebody slice open your body
But the whole time
You do not give up
Just to give them life
The greatest gift
Now
They help us grow they
Feed us they clean us they teach us
They see us go
Through life we may get old enough to leave them
But we will never
Be too old to need them
Women
So let me ask you this
How can you can love your mother
A beautiful woman
Then turn around and strike your wife
The woman you've vowed to love
Respect and protect
For the rest of your life
I will never understand
How a man can devote his time
And claim that he loves a woman then
Create marks on her face
With his bare hands
Causing her to shed tears by his actions
Inflicting pain on the one
He's supposed to protect and cherish
Nobody deserves to be subject to anguish
My only wish is to see progress
Because I am so sick of seeing violence
Now let me share
A few facts with you
Every year around 2.5 million people worldwide
Are trafficked into prostitution and servitude
Forced to give up their rights
Their body and their life
To become nothing more than a slave
About 80% of these victims
Are women
I don't mean to be dark
But this is the cold truth
Did you know
Around the globe that up to half of s**ual a**aults
Are committed
On girls under the age of 16?
Damn
Tell me
How can a grown human being
Be able to find pleasure
In causing pain, to a child?
But these are the stories often
Swept under the rug
Kept hidden or unknown
Never spoke within our homes
We, need to see growth
Believe in these hopes
That dreams are just goals
We reach when we hold
Each other, so close
Now don't get me wrong
A great father is great
And to the fathers who had to
Fill the shoes of a mother
Thank you
To the men who
Treat all women with respect
Thank you
Life is all about happiness and
I've been fortunate enough
To find that in myself
And within, love
As I look in her eyes
I can't help but wonder
Where our home will be
What our kids will look like and
What they'll grow to be so I
Tell the woman I wake up beside
That she is beautiful every morning and
That I love her every day in hopes
That our future children
Will conduct themselves in
The same way
Now when you snap that selfie or
Stare into the mirror remember
Perfection does not exist
It's an opinion which 7 billion of us have
And they're all different
So forget the filters
You don't have to look thinner or
Edit every picture to impress another figure
For a double tapped finger or
The need for a bigger
Follow count
All I ask
Is that we respect, love, and cherish eachother
Treat women the way
We would want our mothers our sisters
Our daughters our aunts our
Grandmothers our cousins ourselves
To be treated
The greatest gift we've ever been given
Is life
And we all deserve to enjoy it
