Adam Foltin - The Artisan's Creed lyrics

The nihilists say that we shouldn't accomplish anything In our lifetime, The sun will burn out someday. When the stars cease to shine, And the universe is left to unlight, Then I will allow myself to be dictated by darkness. But for now there is light. The sun will not burn out tomorrow, the next day, or even the day after that. I am certain of this, because I do not fear it, And what I do not fear can never cause me pain. I am an Artisan, Inspiration is my life, Fire is my element, I will not be dictated by the woes of tomorrow. So long as I can be guided by the sun and its brilliance, So long as I hold fast to my dreams and the fire within me, My flame will be renewed again and again, Each time greater than the last. I will not allow myself to shy away from, Or fear d**h; Not my own, Not anyone's. And everything I will do in this life I am sure of, Come of it evil or good. Be I alone or not, I am an Artisan. I will not abandon a road as long as there is light, Or hope. The Atheists say that God is dead, that he never existed. That we have as little choice as our mechanical creations. I know that God is real, Not because the wrought iron chains of logic say so, But because I burn with red hot flame. The fire is my connection to Him, And to my ancestors. I know that he exists within me, Within us, And I know this because I believe it in my heart, I am an Artisan, No one can take that away from me. And if the nihilists are right, And the sun burns out, And if the atheists are right, And God is no longer, I can be sure of one thing: That when the stars are no longer lit, And the heavens have grown dark, Then the flames within me will be rekindled, And they will burn so bright and fiery, That not even the wrought iron chains of logic, The greatest creation of man, Can hold me to this reality. And I will rise to heaven Because I believe that I will. But after I have gone, Part of the flames will be left behind, Mine as well as yours, And in all-consuming unlight, Ours will light the darkness, The only thing that can be seen For infinities to come.
