Homer - Dinner in Achilles' tent lyrics

"Set up a bigger bowl, son of Menoitios, and mix the wine stronger, and make a cup for each of them. These men that have come under my roof are very dear to me," said Achilles, and Patroklos obeyed his dear friend. Then he put down a big chopping-block in the light of the fire, and placed on it the back of a sheep and of a fat goat, and a hog's chine rich in lard. Automedon held the meat for him, and Achilles cut it up. So he chopped it and stuck the pieces on skewers; meanwhile godlike Patroklos made up the fire into a great blaze, and then, when the fire had burnt out and the flames had died, he spread the embers and arranged the skewers above the fire, resting them on their stands, and he sprinkled the meat with holy salt. Then when he had roasted it and piled it on trays, Patroklos took bread and set it out on a table in fine baskets, and Achilles served the meat.
