Featuring one member from Meat Puppets, one from Nirvana, and one from Sublime, Eyes Adrift began when Curt Kirkwood was touring solo throughout the West Coast of the United States in late 2001. Former Nirvana ba** player Krist Novoselic met Kirkwood in Seattle and asked if the two could work together at some future point. As the tour continued into Long Beach, CA, Bud Gaugh contacted Kirkwood and also wanted to work together. A meeting between Novoselic and Kirkwood took place at Wire Recording in Austin, TX. Shortly thereafter, Gaugh joined and the trio began rehearsing in December 2001. Within days, songs were composed, including "Pasted." From there, recording began in the Washington State area. A brief but widely praised tour ensued in late January and early February, with the musicians fusing various musical styles including rock, folk, and alternative country. The group's debut album was released in 2002. ~ Jason MacNeil, All Music Guide
