The epic hero monomyth is a series of phases that makes a regular or normal person into a hero they go into a journey and become a hero. Luke and katniss are similar they are both young teenagers they have regular lives they still got to to chorus like any other teenager then they are call for a journey that will change them forever . Luke sky walker fulfils a epic hero monomyth because it goes through a phases of steps of a hero. In the beginning he is a normal teenager that works in a farm doing chorus like any other teenager this stage is called status quo. Then he gets a message from princess Leia asking for help the message from that point he knew he had to save her this stage was call for adventure. But after he goes and rescues princess Leia he has to find obi-wan Kenobi when he goes looking for him he gets in a situation then gets rescue by obi-wan Kenobi then he teaches him about the forces he becomes an a**istance this stage is called a**istance which is an older ,wiser character help hero. After Luke leaves his planet to go save princess Leia this is called departure hero leaves his normal world and enters special, new world. katniss Everdeen from hunger games fulfils a epic hero monomyth in the beginning she is a regular girl she has to hunt for food to feed her mom and her sister she grows up in a poor place this is called status quo . Has she goes into the games she is in a situation where she got to fight for tools to survive but in this processes the other players k** each other and she needs to watch her back cause you never know if you gonna get k**ed this stage is called trials where the hero faces obstacles to overcome. In the hunger games all the players are her enemy cause only on person can make it alive when she approaches her enemy she has to fight for her life them this stage is called approach when hero confronts his or hers greatest enemy or fear. After her and peter win the hunger games they are rewarded with a medal stating they won and beat the hunger games this stage is called treasure after winning or being reborn ,hero gains a prize/treasure/etc. When peter and katniss won their lives changed completely they didn't have to go through any struggles anymore this stage is called new life hero is changed man/women and improves the lives of others around him. I choose katniss everdeen from hunger games fulfilled an epic hero monomyth its more realistic to people our age it's something that can actually happen instead of Luke's journey his journey his not that realistic as katniss journey can relate cause she is a girl and seeing her take care of her family makes me think she is a strong person for going through a lot taking her little sisters place to play in the hunger.
