Dana Kent Gallup - The Brave Crows lyrics

While alarmed, I stood anxiously watching… From my safe haven, an ominous cloud- Graying white puffs rolled from South to North, And the sun ducked behind the shroud, Of leaves swirling around like a Blue Northern shuffling in as limbs shook and swayed, But it was some seventy degrees, A pleasant one turned into a hideous day. I saw and heard it pop before the thunder, But, my eyesight wandered through trees, Then, I noticed one lonely black crow, She was perched rocking in the breeze. The lightning struck beyond her, I was struck at awe, The thunder clapped loudly, The crow held on by claw. I glanced back at my haven, To be thankful I am surely blessed, I looked back again at the crow I never noticed a nest. The storm clouds rolled angrily, I gazed at the crow on a limb, I searched through and all around her I was amazed I found her friend. Now, two big black crows perched on limbs, They never seemed afraid, But, through the fierceness of it all, Even a blind man could not be that brave.
