Cristian Celedon Quiroz Mr.Varnell 11/17/2014 6th period Think back when you were just a little kid. What was the one thing that you dreamed to be? For me, I wanted to be a hero can help people like Spiderman or Superman. Spiderman is every little boy's favorite hero. Though I don't know what girl's favorite character to be, maybe wonder women or a fairy. Luke Skywalker was hero of the movie Star Wars but he was an epic hero. Luke as an epic hero he followed the 13 steps of the Epic hero Monomyth. He is the perfect example of the epic hero monomyth. On the status quo, he was just a farm boy with no way out but once he meet the droids that have a special mission he went on a quest to find a man name obi – wan Kenobi which that is called “Call to Adventure”. With help from Obi wan to show Luke the ways of the force to the journey which is called “Assistance”. When saw his master got sliced by Darth Vader he was filled with rage and anger, but he did not know what to do next without him. Now he was in position of disbelief and with no hope without him. Batman is my choice for the Epic Hero Monomyth because when he was a boy he lost his parent's and only Alfred is taking care of him when Bruce was filled with vengeance. For the past years he went to others places to understand how the criminality works and seek the means of fighting justice. When he met Dakar he showed him how to get rid of his fear and a path to justice. Once he had the sk**s, he went back to Gotham and to fight the criminals and became batman. When he was batman every criminals started to fear him because of what he is and what he can do. That's what makes him perfect for the epic hero Monomyth. Now which character that I think is my best role model is Luke Skywalker. Because Luke Skywalker he goes to an adventure that nobody would do. And he is going to be a Jedi like his father was back then from Obi Wan Kenobi. And he goes up against the empire's greatest weapon in the galaxy called the d**h Star. When got inside the d**h Star he heard a voice saying “use the force”, so he listen to it and destroyed the d**h star and saved the rebellion. And became the hero of the rebellion and found a new life and needs to learn the force. In conclusion, Luke Skywalker is my choice being the role model because it has good concept of the Monomyth. And he is my favorite character of the movie star wars to go up against his foes. Also he has a strong will of fire to take down empire and will finally bring peace to the galaxy.
