11/8/13: The Schaffer paragraph model consists of a Topic Sentence, Concrete details, Commentary, and a conclusion sentence. The topic Sentence is usually the first sentence in the intro paragraph that tells what the essay will be about. The second Sentence will usually be the Concrete detail. You need at least two of them in each paragraph, and they tell an important fact from the story or text that you're reading. Next is the Commentary, you need at least two of those for each paragraph too. They also normally come after the concrete details and they pretty much give your opinion on something, and isn't supposed to tell a fact. The conclusion, or closing, sentence is the final sentence of your paragraph. Most of the time you can finish the closing sentence with a transition word to lead up to the next paragraph.
