Boonsri Dickinson - Modern Writing lyrics

My magazine cover story was seen by millions of people, Prisoners penned letters, Telling me they wanted to be my playmate, To date my DNA story, Told in ink. Today those offline would rarely see the articles I write online, Everyone is a writer, The words drowned out by click bate, Rising through Reddit and Facebook likes, A dollar a word, Lessened by the sea of content. Writing is fun, Not if that is what you do everyday, A writer knows, The words come slow, Multiple drafts, A writer is never really done. The computer unlocked writing, Making visual writing possible, Through film and mobile editing. With your phone, you can make movies, Open Givit, Touch the screen, Move the clips, Lay in bed and edit. Technology can make expression easier, But expressing remains the same, It's hard to be understood, Verbally and visually, But it is possible to touch a soul, If the words resonate. [Note: I filmed a video poem to go with the words above. I shot it using Google Gla** and my iPhone and edited the footage with Givit, a video editing app.]
