Ashok Niyogi - Evening Rain lyrics

The first mammoth drop on my wind shield swiped away with wipers. But the headlights catch the next few at a slant in mountain wind. It moans up from the valley, threatens to lift my car and fly away. But the rain is heavy, cumbersome and confused, the rain is deaf, it can't hear the wind say, ‘come this way'. Potholes to puddles, puddles overflow, become rivulets that brave the gorge, or hug the mountain and run away, without a steering wheel; brakes have failed. Darkness is heavy, takes time to defy gravity and roll up mountainsides. But it will come, starless, even mountain less maybe, electricity will inevitably fail, where is my three battery powerful torch?
