Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Angie Aparo built up a devoted cadre of fans in the Southeast thanks to frequent, committed performances. Following his initial independent release, Aparo hooked up with producer Matt Serletic in 1998 and began to craft the material that would become his debut album. The American was released in early 2000 and featured a full, contemporary, adult alternative-style production missing from his previous, largely solo acoustic work. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
