Life is a rollercoaster,
But that cliché's overused so I'll put it in my holster
And say this fall,
Bipolar is the new sane.
Gray skies and a matching mood.
It's like these clouds have some attitude,
And I'm just overflowing with empathy.
But look now!
The clouds split and I'm feeling more than fine,
Right up there on Number Nine
At least until the next molehill
Gets upgraded to Mount St. Helens.
And it's all in,
Chips gone,
House wins,
Or I'm the luckiest man today.
But it seems my winning streak's
Only as long as a goldfish's memory.
And it's an up or down,
Smile or frown way.
The weatherman is my new shrink these days.
Flip a coin,
You'll get my point.
My head's so polarized I don't know
If your tale's the same.
Flip-flip, I switch the other way.
Hot, cold in a porridge sort of way
But I can't find "just right" today,
B-but it's alright.
(It's alright.)
It's ok.
(It's ok!)
And all my emotions are binary,
And if you want a case study,
Then why is me losing my keys
Mankind's greatest tragedy?
And I'll take the high road,
Or I'll take the low,
But never the middle or at least it seems so.
And that might make things rocky at time,
But at least it ain't dans le style de plateau.
And it's an up or down,
Smile or frown way.
The weatherman is my new shrink these days.
Flip a coin,
You'll get my point.
My head's so polarized I don't know
If your tale's the same.
