My favorite Reasonable Doubt lyrics is… We used to fight for building blocks Now we fight for blocks with buildings that make a k**ing This is my favorite lyric because... The way he flips the order of "blocks" and "building(s)" in two consecutive lines to perfectly describe the ironic trajectory his life has taken - going from the innocence of playing w/ building blocks as a child to the cold and brutal reality of having to literally fight over blocks of buildings - is incredibly genius. The lyric is concise and seemingly simple, but it's so real, so effective, so visual, and so dope
Even though I don't relate to the drug trade references, I can definitely relate to the idea of innocence lost as one grows older
