I cannot imagine waking up each day
to nothing but fields of dirt
that floated and grew like
a great desert because
there was only wind
I cannot imagine the desperation
someone had to finally feel
to pack all that was left
and head to a utopia
a new promise
I cannot imagine how others did stay
said g'bye forever to dear ones
tears running over their smiles
