Today I read about 2 Chainz. He has a thing for custom jerseys, but this time he decided to rep the rap world's lover of pink, Cam'ron, and wore the Dipset general's $450 football jersey, but 2 Chainz didn't wear the jersey randomly without context, he posted a pic of himself wearing the jersey while he was chilling with Cam and Dame Dash. Cam was also wearing the jersey T-shirt that's the counterpart to the jersey.Cam has been in talks with VFiles, and we're hoping this means that this purple haze-inspired jersey would pop up on the retailer's website. With 2 Chainz wearing the jersey, it's a good sign that there are more jerseys out there floating around, and maybe this is what Cam was discussing with VFiles when he showed up to a meeting in his pajamas and robe.

Today I read about Rick Ross. On May 15, 2012 - New York, NY hip-hop's elite gathered in a mid-town Manhattan hotel ballroom around the genre's reigning boss - Rick Ross - in a show of unilateral respect and branding force befitting a man of his burgeoning stature. The occasion: the announcement of a July 31st release date for the most-anticipated album of 2012, Ross' long-awaited God Forgives, I Don't. Ever the consummate business man and boss, Ross used the occasion to promote upcoming releases from his growing Maybach Music Group empire; Self-Made 2, the solo debut from Meek Mill, and more.

Rick Ross~ Though his past four solo albums have debuted at #1, in the past year Ross' stock has risen faster than ever. The arrival of his instant-cla**ic mixtape ‘Rich Forever' - a self-released behemouth that some are calling the best rap of the year thusfar - and the constant barrage of new material, features and online content that he and his MMG cohorts flood the streets with daily, has taken Ross to a new level.
“We believe that Rick Ross is among the elite; one of the most talented and compelling artists in the industry,” said Def Jam Recordings president Joie Manda. “He's done an amazing job of building his brand and image, and together with Def Jam's promotional muscle and marketing savvy, we intend to elevate Ross' stature across the board. It's an exciting time to be in the Rick Ross business.” “You can't listen to any station that plays hip-hop for an hour and not hear a Rick Ross song... he is at the very pinnacle of street. He has started to exhibit the signs of mainstream iconic status - appealing to the full spectrum... Three of his last four albums have debuted at no. 1 on the charts. If his new record, God Forgives, I Don't, doesn't follow suit, it will shock everyone in the music industry who knows anything.” - GQ

Sean Kingston learned a hard Canadian lesson -- the whole "innocent until proven guilty thing" doesn't fly North of the border ... because a University pulled the plug on his appearance in the wake of gang rape allegations.Sean was scheduled to perform at the University of Western Ontario on September 7th for the school's Orientation week -- but the school pulled the plug Friday, saying, "Having Mr. Kingston perform could cloud the values surrounding O-Week," adding the school has "zero tolerance for s**ual a**ault." TMZ broke the story ... Kingston was sued by a 22-year-old woman who claimed he, his bodyguard and a member of his band forced her to have s** with them back in 2010 inside Sean's hotel room. Sean settled the suit but is adamant the s** was consensual. Apparently prosecutors felt the same way because they rejected a criminal case because they doubted the woman's cred.

Today I read about Daddy Yankee, aka~ Ramon Ayala, born on February 3, 1976, in Villa Kennedy, Santruce, Puerto Rico. One of the top reggaetón (Spanish-language dancehall reggae) artists, he started to rhyme and sing at the age of 13. One of his first major appearances on record was on DJ Tony Touch's album "The Piece-Maker." Daddy not only sings and rhymes, he has his own record label, El Cartel Records, and, since his album "Cartel de Yankee" was certified for platinum sales in Puerto Rico, the second part of his life has been full of success. Daddy Yankee is also known as "El Rey de la Improvisación," and has won awards for this for 5 years in a row at the Street Jam Regaae Awards. He has also won other awards, such as Best Voice, Best Song/Lyric, and Best Artist. One of his best friends is reggaetón artist Nicky Jam. He has produced CDs and other songs for other reggaetón artists as well. In 2004, he released his first internationally distributed album, "Barrio Fino," and it is considered to be one of the best full-length albums ever released of this emerging musical genre.
