The Heidelberg Project is a project set on transforming Detroit into a beautiful, artistic town; at least as far as Heidelberg Street goes. Founder Tyree Guyton has helped Detroit represent something bigger and better for the past 27 years. His vision was to gather various, random objects and change them into something artistic in order to create an outdoor art museum; and do that he did. However, recent vandalism has brought this project to a pile of mere ashes…literally. Eight arsons have demolished four of the seven main Heidelberg houses within the course of seven months. One of the four houses burned down was known as the War Room House and had previously served as a home for Wilson Pickett. These arsons are still a mystery and, despite the $30,000 reward for any information that results in the conviction of anyone responsible, there have been no leads.
