Me and she were sitting on the edge
And a boat was going by and I was thinking to myself
My god I would like to take that ride
When I included her in my imaginary plans
Left but nothing short of a guilt stricken man
Trying to find a way to make amends
Then my shoe slipped off and had fallen in
Like a lot of other stuff I imagine
And if I was a pirate diver I could swim all the way down
And find her something nice at the bottom of that water
Give it to her maybe to apologize sorta
But it's just more stuff
Wait, wait for me, wait for me
When mother gets back
Nature breaks me
When we got up from that river bed
I took her by the arm and said let's get going
Cause them clouds seem to be getting together for a mean one
We'll walk on down to that diner
I've got some change and nothing would be finer
Cause I haven't had myself a coffee bean in a long, long time
She said what about your shoe?
I said that don't matter I'll just wear my spare
It don't make a matching pair but I don't care
Cause it's just more stuff
Wait, wait for me, wait for me
When mother gets back
Nature breaks me
No fair I let you ride for free
We were going down the highway in my black Marathon
When I looked out at the western horizon
And there was the biggest twister I swear I ever did see
I pulled it on over and said everybody out
Everybody out so we can get a good look at this s**er
And then somebody goes
That there is the finger of God touching down on Earth
And we're all gonna die
And my man said
I don't necessarily know about all that
But I know one thing
We're in for one hell of a ride
I love this stuff
Wait, wait for me, wait for me
When mother gets back
Nature breaks me
No fair I let you ride for free
