A commonly mispronounced word in America is " ASK ". This is frequently mispronounced as AKS...or another spelling "AX" Hypothetical... A child is raised saying " ax him " as opposed to "ask him ". No biggie, those who know the child and the child knowing the adults understand one another. In the meantime this particular child has been allowed to watch violent movies and play violent video games, regularly. Freewill choice and parental discretion, not my business. Now this child enters into the world of people. Strangers. He carries on but a bully finally gets to him so he tells asking...
... "Why mom, is he bullying me?... the child is pleading for help....the parent then says "AX him yourself". The child leaves somewhat dismissed but with a solution. The child then goes and grabs the "ax" having learned what it was on a game he was playing. He saw a neighbor use one, so he gets it finds the bully and does EXACTLY as was told... by the parent/guardian. Food for thought. Language comprehension is of UTMOST importance to CHILDREN!
