Someone’s always holding up a sign
Drawing or crossing a line
Painting up a downtown wall with what they think
Standing on the left or the right
Always gotta pick a side
But why should we have to fight for what we believe?
Without being too political or too critical
I’ve got something to say
It’s really not a riddle, no, it’s really quite simple
And it may even sound cliche
But when it comes down to it, we’re all human
The one thing we can stand for
Is hate less, love more
Someone’s always gonna be mean
It’s easy to hide behind a screen
Thinking that the hurt ain’t real if we can’t see
Pointing fingers at everyone else so we don’t have to blame ourselves
For not being the change in the world that we wanna see
Without being too political or too critical
I’ve got something to say
It’s really not a riddle, no, it’s really quite simple
And it may even sound cliche
But when it comes down to it, we’re all human
The one thing we can stand for
Is hate less, love more
A little more sunshine
A little less rain
A little more good times
A little less pain
‘Cause when it comes down to it, we’re all human
The one thing we can stand for
Is hate less, love more
