Like idols Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt, Hanson discovered Nashville at a young age, testing the waters during the early '90s before establishing a home there in 1995. She met husband/songwriter Mark Nesler in 1997, signed a publishing deal with Acuff Rose the year after, and by 2000 had inked a deal with Capitol. Her blend of pop/rock and glossy new country hit the airwaves in 2002 with the single "Beautiful Goodbye."
