[Intro]
(Opens with "If today was my last day" speech by Steve Jobs)
[Verse 1]
Day one gotta make the best of it. Go to cla** go to work, late night at the desk repetitive. Eyes half open with one kind of emotion wonder if this is just another sedative
People tell me I've become so negative, rolling out the doubts, the pouts, I'm more sensitive than I give myself credit for, always close the door, never let the tears pour
I'm such a mess, yet I'm so blessed. I my life hard? Or do I need to get harder? Get a lot smarter to get a lot farther, how can you be a finisher if you're not a self-starter?
I think I care to much about what others think, I used to be so fearless, never flinched, never blinked. Now everyday I stare at the mirror above the sink. I used to thirst for truth but now I don't even drink
[Hook]
Last day, this is my last day (3X)
Tell me what I need to know
[Verse 2]
Day two got to see the big picture, step behind the plate like an ump or a pitch. You might get thrown a curve, you might get thrown a strike or sometimes your laces might get stuck on a bike. You might fall face down, you might sink or drown, you might yell or scream to hear a single sound but life's not out to get us we got to get up and get it. Don't sit there hoping and moping for something you'll surely regret it
Now I understand to truly be man, it's not my own plan, my life is in the hand of the man with his own stand. If this is my last day what should I do? Sell all my things say good-bye to everyone I knew? No. Live every single like it is my last because one day that day will surely come to pa**. When our lives are gone because time is so fast. It's time to stop staring at the mirror and push through the gla**
Last day this is my last day (x2)
[Hook]
Last day, this is my last day (3X)
Tell me what I need to know
