In "Heading South", there are literary uses of straight-forward story telling.
"I've always been attracted to Port-au-Prince.As far as I was concerned ,Port-au-Prince was for nymphos. Not for me. One big s** party.Anyway,I've been coming here now for five years .."
The narrator of the story is very straight-forward in her opinions, but was showing how drastically her thoughts of Port-au-Prince have changed from just "heading south" to Port-au-Prince.
a visual representation of Port-au-Prince. it the picture, it does look like a lot of shack houses, not much to see on their own, but as they are all piled on one another and are stacked with variations in color and style, as a whole Port-au-Prince has rough beauty behind it.it.http://www.airtransat.com/getmedia/65e12966-ebd4-496e-800d-4d3ec93fb79c/Port-au-Prince03.jpg?width=20483.

I feel like with the way she talks about Port-au-Prince it's in a very humorous way, especially how she describes it as a place for "nymphs".There is definitely a cheeky quality to her for sure and she isn't afraid to speak her mind and be a little overdramtic.
