There was a time when I seized the moment,
But now I'm forced to seize the past,
Clutching to faded memories,
Of times that I thought would last
Looking back I remember the day
When I was satisfied with life's routine.
Things would always go my way,
And I was blind to reality.
Now that veil of optimism
Has been torn from before my eyes.
Exposing a rude awakening
To the emptiness of human life.
So now I'm forced to face this world
And the sight of it sickens me.
There isn't anything I wouldn't give
To be blind again to reality.
Ignorance is bliss
Masking this emptiness
Ignorance is bliss
How did it come to this?
