She's got two teeth in the bottom
And one comin' in on top
And she likes to wave her hand
And she cant talk
And she can't yet walk
We both know she understands
And the bottom of the stairs she ascends
With no fear of falling
In the other room
Her brother rides on a wooden horse
And she can hear his voice is calling
She doesn't know how young I am
It'll be a long while before she realizes
That she likes to dance
And she likes to sing
There's no telling what she'll bring
To the world.
But first she's my little girl
She's got a face like south midnight
And in the morning she's like the sun,
Maybe tomorrow we can go to the zoo.
Don't forget to bring your camera,
Some will stay through the day,
But I love how your thoughts are.
And someday she'll fall in love
With the man she was made for
He'll give her his heart
He'll give her his soul
And that's who'll protect her.
He'll give her diamonds
He'll give her gold
And pearls
But first she's my little girl
Every day I pray for you,
To keep you from harm,
To keep you safe,
Everyday I watch you grow
I watch you grow taller after another
Everyday I see you smile,
Cuss through the pain
Everyday I thank God for you
For my little girl
I hope these arms make you feel safe
And my voice makes you feel at home
In the deep places of your soul
Where only God can go,
May you swim, may you fly,
And the great sun appears and rises
Cause somewhere in her eyes,
Even in the next while
You'll always be my little girl
