I'm looking back, thinking of our time,
We spent down by the lake,
The clouds were grey, the weather wasn't fine,
But it all seemed so beautiful anyway
I took those pictures, so many photographs,
With you smiling, for my camera you were made,
We walked together, hand in hand along the paths
Kissing whether it shined or rained
Martini lunch in the park on the island,
You wrapped around me, like a ring around a diamond,
Your smile as sun rose, and woke you from your dreams,
I felt so wholesome, like i'd never ever been
Nine days in April, is all i've had with you,
But I know there will be nine days more,
Whether they come in the months of May or June,
It will be all worth waiting for
The coffee houses, preserved here for all time,
We graced the opera, walking arm in arm,
Hardly an evening when we retired after nine,
The Gellert baths had such a charm
Cruise on the Danube, with the town lit up like pearls,
The parliament, the castle and the citadel,
The water circus in this corner of the world,
So many stories here to tell
And as you left me, I felt my heart was split in two,
I felt a half of such a whole,
The thought that you will find the man in me in time
So rea**uring to my soul
Nine days in April, is all i've had with you,
But I know there will be nine days more,
Whether they come in the months of May or June,
It will be all worth waiting for
