Equal in age and innocence
But the equality ends there
Between them comes the unbreakable
Barriers of status and society.
This one stark difference
Demarcates everything in their lives
One sells newspapers
So that he may too attend school
The other goes to school
Aiding him to read newspapers
One enjoys childhood pleasure
The other seeks it
Can no one break these barriers?
Can no one make a difference?
After all,
Aren't both God's children?
