Singing and praying in the front yard,
kids stare look back and lose their guard
just to call me names.
Mother isn't a deer, father wants a beer
nothing will ever change.
Embrace light that shines over all.
Could never be what they want,
painted dark in the background.
Put a dress on,
feeling down to paralyze all.
Excitement in the air
and I sing.
It only took a minute
to uncurl my wings of voices.
It can only take a second till they tear my feathers
day by day.
The envy of the fools
can never cast down the singer of an Angel
But yet the heart of the village
was always the key
so it is wingless.
