I sat down by myself in a lounge with broken wings
To watch a band carve lullabies out of metal, horns and strings
My old faded memory soothed by the music's tone
And danced as in a dream
I must have faded off for I woke up with a start
The music was a hammering the walls falling apart
Just then a door blew open with a spectre from my past
A beauty made of gla** without a soul
Ain't it just like her to steal happiness out of my grasp?
Guess I've still got a long way to crawl
Always knows where to find me no matter how deep the hole
Winter Spring, Summer Fall
I could feel her most earnestly pull on my weary eyes
I gave a glance to estimate who was winning, her or time
She gave me a private show across the crowded room
And laughing, walked away
Ain't it just like her to steal happiness out of my grasp?
Guess I've still got a long way to crawl
Always knows where to find me no matter how deep the hole Winter Spring, Summer Fall
