Snake on the sand, underneath the sky
Red back down and white belly high
Waiting for the eagle to take him to paradise
Snake on the sand, underneath the sky
Red back down and white belly high
Waiting for the eagle to take him to paradise
Shadow flickered over the sand
Eagle called down, circling in:
“why don't you hide? Where is the chase?”
“I don't wanna get caught up in someone else's race
I know my role, I know my place. I know what this is, why resist it?
I know how this ends, I'll just close my eyes.”
“Why don't you wait another day? No white belly up to the sky
I'll let you lie
“Why don't you wait another day? No white belly up to the sky
I'll let you lie,”
And down by the river, a snake swam sneakily by the eagle's eye
And up by the tree, I think about the course
And I am willing to try
Then the eagle, pa**ing, called out to his brother:
“It was a hot and wretched day, yeah
And I didn't see nothin'
No, I didn't see nothin'.”
